Interwar German Trade Cello (GE024) - SOLD
Interwar German Trade Cello (GE024) - SOLD
Good, solid, honest German trade instrument made sometime in the interwar years (1918-1939).
There is nothing fancy about this unlabeled cello, these instruments were made in mass in the Saxony region of Germany prior to WW2. They are well made drawing on generations of string instrument making expertise.
This cello has had a new fingerboard and tailpiece installed along with a new set of Kaplan D’Addario strings. It made with decent woods and is fitted with a self-adjust bridge which optimizes string contact with the resonance of the cello. The sound is big, bold yet nuanced.
There is some surface wear and a seam repair that is hidden behind the tailpiece. It is in good working order and conforms to modern playing standards.
This is a great starter or step up from a basic student cello that easily outperforms most new cellos in its price range. High resolution photos available on request.
