Erzsébet Strings 7/8th Cello, Hungary 2023 (HU01) - SOLD

We get a number of requests for smaller 4/4 and 7/8 sized cello, these can be hard to source and the Erzsébet Strings line is in response to those requests. These carefully selected new instruments are imported by us directly from Hungary. They are made by experienced luthiers from top quality Bosnian flamed maple and fine spruce tone woods. They are very well made, beautifully varnished and offer terrific value for money.

This particular 7/8th cello is fashioned after a Stradivari model. It has a beautiful deep auburn varnish and is antiqued to replicate an old Italian master instrument. It is has a fine set up featuring Larsen strings, a Wittner composite tailpiece, Aubert bridge and carbon fiber endpin.

This cello invites the player to play with expression; it has a lovely sound that can be found on far more expensive instruments. The lower string is especially attractive. It is perfect for the cellist that wants a beautiful instrument with superior sound but finds playing a 4/4 uncomfortable.
