The bows he made at the WE Hill company are marked with the number 12. He left the firm in 1966 and set up his own workshop in Suffolk in 1969, later settling in Scotland. Garner Wilson bows are highly prized for their responsiveness, quality and the attention to detail spent by the maker. Weight 86 grams.

WE Hills & Sons

WE Hills & Sons were a London firm in business from 1880 to 1982. Along with employing Britain’s best bowmakers, the firm was the principal dealer for fine stringed instruments throughout the 20th Century. They handled most of the notable private sales including those of the old Italian Masters (Stradivari, Guarneri, Amati etc). Anything connected to the firm is now considered of quality and value and their brand is highly collected. Their records were acquired by another firm and can be accessed (for a fee); they contain the provenance of many important instruments.
