Jerome Thibouville-Lamy (JTL) 'Compagnon', France c.1910 (FR027)
This cello was made by the Jerome Thibouville-Lamy (JTL) factory of Mirecourt, France around 1910. JTL catered to all levels of musician from student to serious orchestra player and used a range of labels to denote the quality of an instrument.
This cello has lost its label, but we’ve seen enough of these to know that it is definitely an early 1900’s JTL instrument and most likely a ‘Compagnon’ model.
JTL cellos of this era are good, honest instruments that rarely disappoint in sound quality and projection, this one is no exception.
The instrument is in unusually excellent condition with no repairs and displaying only minor wear & tear. It is fitted with premium Larsen & Larsen Magnacore strings and the sound is powerful, loud and projecting.
The length of back is 760 mm. High resolution photos can be sent on request.
